Only eight kilometers from the heart of Belgrade, in the village of Višnjica, stands Cherry Hill — a modern distillery where tradition and technology exist in perfect harmony. Here, on the banks of the Danube, where the winds intertwine, up to 40,000 bottles of Zaplet brandy are crafted each year.
Our story begins in our hearts. A love for pure, genuine rakia — increasingly rare today — became our driving force. Zaplet was created for our family, our friends, and our dearest guests. Yet there is more than enough to share with those who truly appreciate natural, authentic rakia.
Across seven hectares of Red Ranka plums, two hectares of Leskovac quince, and two hectares of apricots, we cultivate the finest fruit — the very soul of Zaplet and Cherry Hill Distillery. Every piece of fruit is carefully chosen, because only healthy fruit can give birth to a rakia that feels whole, balanced, and true. This is the rakia we proudly serve at our own family celebrations.
MATURING IN SILENCE, TIME AND PATIENCE
Our rakia matures for a minimum of three years in Seguin Moreau French oak barrels, following principles traditionally used in the crafting of cognac. Through a thoughtful combination of barrel types, controlled aeration, and carefully selected fruit, we blend craftsmanship with imagination, shaping new layers of aroma, flavor, and sensation in every sip.
The tasting room in Višnjica, overlooking the Danube and embraced by the Church of St. Nicholas, is where every expression of Zaplet (plot twist) can be experienced — a place to slow down, taste, and surrender to the Twist.
